Danish cocoa-based spellcheck on OS X

cocoAspell I installed the universal (intel) version of cocoAspell on my MacBook Pro five minutes ago. Works fine with the Danish version 5 dictionary and Adium and Apple Mail so far.

A nice surprise on a sunday.

It would be cool if Anton had RSS feed or newsletter email on cocoAspell (cocoaspell.leuski.net). I do not fancy MacUpdate that much. Too much junk and paid subscription.

cocoAspell going binary was the only thing left unchecked on my “stuff i used on my XP and cant live without”

cocoAspell does the trick. This sure is good news my friend

I have tried to install cocoAspell on a Macbook Pro as well. But I can\’t get it working. What did you do? What version of the dictionary do you use?

Would really appriciate any advice you may have :-)

I downloaded the cocoAspell 2.0.4 for Intel at the frontpage of cocoaspell.leuski.net and then I grabbed the Danish dictionary from here http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict/da/aspell5-da-1.4.42-1.tar.bz2

I unpacked aspell5-da-1.4.42-1.tar.bz2 and moved the dictionary to /Library/Application Support/cocoAspell/aspell5-da-1.4.42-1.

Then I opened the cocoAspell pane in System Preferences. You may have to hit the box in front of the Danish to get a check-mark on the list in there.

Afterwards in Apple Mail or Adium I just right-click any chunk of text and use the Spelling submenu to change language as needed.

If you are using OS X 10.5 Leopard, there is a Danish dictionary built-in.

cocoaspell.leuski.net is still up and running. I guess you will need to go there.
